Trade-mark Lawyer

Sander Gelsing is a Canadian intellectual property lawyer and holds a law degree from the University of Victoria. He is called to both the Alberta and British Columbia Bars.

Mr. Gelsing assists clients with a variety of trade-mark and related legal matters, including:

  • trade-mark oppositions;
  • trade-mark summary expungement proceedings;
  • common-law trade-mark litigation (i.e. "passing-off");
  • trade-mark infringement law suits;
  • internet domain name disputes (including CIRA dot-ca domains);
  • trade-mark register searches and legal opinions; and
  • due-diligence surrounding the purchase of trade-mark and trade name assets.
Mr. Gelsing represents clients at both the provincial level (e.g. Alberta Court of Queen's Bench) and the federal level (e.g. Federal Court of Canada). He also has a very active practice in front of the Trade-mark Opposition Board at the Canadian Intellectual Property Office.
